When I started my planning process, I wanted to have my wedding at the Hard Rock Casino and Spa in Punta Cana. This is my favorite resort and I knew for sure this was where I wanted my guests and I to stay. After speaking with their wedding department, hearing their minimum night stay requirements, and looking at my options – I realized I still wanted to stay here but I did not want to have my wedding there. I searched for off-site venues for a while until I was told to look at Huracan Beach Club. I was uneasy at the thought of having my wedding at a “café,” until I looked at it in person. This was no ordinary “café,” this was tropical luxury all in one location!
The walkway into the venue is lined with beautiful, tropical flowers and private walls. When I walked into the downstairs portion of the restaurant it nearly took my breath away because of how beautiful it was. The inside is neutral, natural tones that blend perfectly with the white sand and blue water in the background. Huracan is directly located on the beach, so the sound of waves and the smell of saltwater hit you beautifully even from within the restaurant.

Even though this is a restaurant and the beach is technically public, they will close the entire restaurant for your wedding. The bridal suite is downstairs, and this is perfect because you can access the rooftop portion from a separate stairway so no one can see the bride coming up to the rooftop. My groom got ready on the rooftop, where there are private bathrooms and a private bar! If you choose to have a beach ceremony like I did, your wedding coordinator will have you take the private staircase to the rooftop, and walk down another set of steps onto the beach. These stairs brought me out straight onto my wedding aisle, and my guests loved the setup!
I chose to have a beach ceremony, with a rooftop reception. The first time I stepped foot onto the rooftop of Huracan, I nearly cried because of how beautiful it was. There is a private bar, a private pool that is lit up at night, the roof has a curtain that can be pulled over in case the sun is very hot, or the weather gets bad. I had string lights placed along the rooftop railings and it truly felt whimsical – like a fairy tale. The rooftop gives the best view of the ocean, the white sands, and is completely private for your event! There are “party boats” that you can rent on a dock outside of Huracan. They were empty during my wedding, so they gave the perfect backdrop for photos. One of the boats is a pirate ship, and this was the best photo op for my pirate loving husband!
The best part of Huracan is Nati, the owner of the business! She was not able to stay during my wedding because she is pregnant and has young children, but she spent days and days planning my wedding with me. She was available anytime I needed her, she met with my photographer for me to help plan my schedule, she decorated everything exactly how I wanted it, and she truly is the magic behind the beautiful Huracan Beach Club! I trusted her so much that I let her pick my DJ and officiant – and they were amazing! Though Nati had to leave, she left me in the best hands with an amazing coordinator that stayed until we left!

Every guest that came to my wedding told me if they get married, they are going to have it at Huracan Beach Club as well! My grandmother still cannot stop talking about how amazing their homemade lasagna was, and my grandfather is still raving over the pork and beef! My best friend and I shared a club sandwich in the bridal suite and it’s the best club sandwich we’ve ever had! My toddlers are picky eaters, and they happily ate from every meal that came out!
My husband and I did private vows that the photographer recorded, and there were so many places around Huracan to do these privately, take amazing pictures, and truly be in the moment with each other. I am truly sad that my wedding day is over, but I’m grateful I can relive it through the videography and photography! My husband and I have vowed to visit the Huracan Beach Club every time we go to Punta Cana – for the food, for the memories, and the beauty!
