I hosted my wedding at Royalton Riviera Cancun with 50 guests, and the experience exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, the resort provided a beautiful setting for our wedding and reception and great service to our guests, which made our celebration truly unforgettable.

Our guests stayed primarily in the Royalton Riviera family section, with a mix of accommodations including garden view rooms, ocean view rooms, and one-bedroom suites. A few guests chose to upgrade to the Diamond Club, which offered added amenities like personalized butler service, access to exclusive Diamond Club restaurants, and use of the Diamond Club pool, all of which elevated their experience. We also had a handful of guests in the adults-only section, Hideaway at Royalton Riviera Cancun. Despite being divided into different areas, the resort’s layout kept everything within close walking distance, giving it an intimate feel without ever seeming too small.

One of the highlights of Royalton Riviera Cancun is its no-reservations policy at most à la carte restaurants, which made dining easy for our group. Our guests enjoyed a wide variety of restaurants, including the Steakhouse, Italian, Mexican, Asian, Indian, and Caribbean restaurants. The only exception was the Asian restaurant’s hibachi tables, which do require a reservation, and well worth it for the fun, interactive dining experience. For breakfast, most guests opted for the buffet or convenient room service. Lunch options are located throughout the resorts, with food trucks, poolside snack bars, grills, and the buffet. The resort also features an ice cream and coffee shop.

The wedding department at Royalton Riviera Cancun was incredibly helpful in ensuring every detail of our big day was planned and smoothly executed. From the initial planning stages to the final moments, their team provided guidance and support that made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. We hosted our Welcome Party at the lobby bar, which was a great spot for everyone to pop by at their leisure. Our Rehearsal Dinner took place at the Italian restaurant with plenty of options to choose from. Throughout the stay, we also organized two large group dinners, one at the Steakhouse and another at the Hibachi tables in the Asian restaurant.
Royalton Riviera Cancun truly had something for everyone. Our guests took full advantage of the many pools throughout the resort, and the kid splash zones. For late night entertainment, the on-site casino was a hit. Several guests enjoyed massages at the spa. While other guests also took the opportunity to explore by booking excursions through the on-site excursions desk.

Overall, Royalton Riviera Cancun was a fantastic choice for our wedding. Choosing a budget friendly option was top priority, but also making sure the food, wedding venues, and amenities did not lack was a top priority. Royalton is currently undergoing renovations and will soon reopen with a fresh, updated look. If you’re looking for a budget friendly venue, this is your spot!
